Headline Story
Ellie has 1 hour to do both her homework ad play outside. If she does her home for _____ minutes, then she can play outside for _____ minutes.
Possible student responses
- If it takes Ellie 60 minutes to do her homework, then she has no time to play outside.
- If she does her homework in 40 minutes, then she has 20 minutes to play.
- If Ellie does her homework in 30 minutes, then she could play outside for that same amount of time, 30 minutes.
- If Ellie does her homework in less than 30 minutes, then she can play for a longer time than it took her to do her work.
