Introduction

The goal of Headline Stories is for children to translate situations and information into problems that can be answered mathematically. Discuss with children what information they know and what information is missing from the story. You may also want to discuss whether  some answers are reasonable, such as when there is too much of an age difference between the brothers, or if one is close to 100.
