Introduction

Display the image pictured in the sidebar, Triangles and Rectangles, to children. Encourage children to make up sentences or stories about the picture. To help children get started you might ask questions such as, “How many shapes are there of each color?”, “How many rectangles are there?”, “How many triangles?”, or “Are there more triangles than rectangles? How many more?”
