Possible student responses
- If you put a 3 in place of the circle, then 13 should replace the triangle.
- I built a tower using 3 yellow blocks and 10 blue blocks so it was 13 blocks tall. 3 + 10 = 13.
- I had a collection of 4 baseballs and then I bought 10 more so that my collection grew to 14 baseballs. 4 + 10 = 14.
