Introduction
Share the Headline Story with the class. Have children work briefly on their own, watch for interesting solutions, and then invite children to share solutions with the class. Discuss whether the triangles are congruent and what makes children think so. The class may decide for themselves what makes for “different” solutions.
Headline Story
Sketch a rectangle that is twice as long as it is tall. Let’s see how many different ways we can cut that into more than two and less than ten congruent triangles.
