Jan wrote a story for the number sentence
6 + 4 = 10.
Possible student responses
- It is 6:00 now, so in 4 hours it will be 10:00.
- I am at 10 on the number line now, but I started at 6 and jumped forward 4 spaces.
- I have 10¢ altogether. I have 4¢ in one hand, so I have 6¢ in the other hand.
- There were 6 children at the park. After more children came to the park, there were 10 children. How many more children came to the park?
