Kaseem’s teacher wrote this
number sentence on the board:
10 + _____ = 25
Complete the number sentence
and tell a story to go with it.
Possible student responses
- 10 + 15 = 25
- If I start at 10 on the number line, I must jump 15 spaces to land on 25.
- I have 10¢, so I need 15¢ more to buy an apple for 25¢.
- 25 is 15 greater than 10.
- I have 25 pages to read. I’ve already read 10 pages. How many more pages do I have left to read?
