Headline Story
A number has 3 digits, two of which are to the right of the decimal point. There are no zeros in the number. The sum of the digits is 5. What can you say?
Possible student responses
- The greatest number you can make is 3.11.
- The least is 1.13.
- You can make 1.13, 1.22, 1.31, 2.12, 2.21, and 3.11 (in order from least to greatest).
