John drew the points (3,0), (5,0), and (–1, 0) on a coordinate grid. All the points lay on a line. What line was it? Can you name more points on the line?

- The line was the horizontal axis (or the
*x*-axis). - All points on the line are represented by ordered pairs with zero as the second number.
- Some other points on the line are (–5, 0), (0, 0), and (2,0).
