Headline Story
A certain multiple of 10 can be partitioned into equal groups in many ways. What can you say about its factors?
Possible student responses
- If the number is 100, it can be divided into equal groups of 2, 50, 4, 25, 5, 20, or 10, or it can stay as a group of 100.
- If the number is 60, the groups could have 2, 30, 3, 20, 4, 15, 5, 12, 6, or 10 members, or it stay as one group of 60.
- Any multiple of 10 can be divided up into equal groups of 10, 2, and 5.
