Headline Story
How can you find the number of minutes from the end of school today until 6 PM on the last day of the month?
Possible student responses
- You need to know how many days there are until the end of the month, counting tomorrow as day 1.
- Multiply that by 24, the number of hours in a day.
- Add the number of hours between the end of school today and midnight, and 18 hours for midnight to 6 PM on the last day of the month (or subtract 6 if you counted the last day of the month itself).
- Multiply the result by 60 (and add any additional minutes needed, if school doesn’t end on the hour).
