Possible student responses
- There are 3 of something on the vertical axis for every 1 on the horizontal axis; so you could put feet on the vertical axis and yards on the horizontal axis, because there are 3 feet in a yard.
- If the vertical axis was miles and the horizontal axis hours, it could be a graph of someone going 3 miles an hour.
