Read the Headline Story to the students. Encourage them to think of creative ways to draw the quilt squares.
Headline Story
Tobey made a square quilt with 16 pieces. All the quilt pieces were congruent – the same size and shape. Draw a picture of what the quilt might look like. His sister, Tabitha made her quilt with 20 congruent pieces. Draw a picture of what her quilt might look like.
