Introduction
This Headline Story encourages children to look for a numerical pattern. Read the headline aloud and list the addition facts on the board. Ask, “What can you say or ask about this story? Can you make a prediction? What did you notice?” You may want to model a prediction based on the pattern. Invite children to describe patterns they see.
