Introduction
Read the Headline Story to children. Encourage them to create problems that can be solved by using information from the story. To encourage children to use probability words such as likely, unlikely, and probably, you can model some questions they could ask about the headlines.

- They probably have 20 children in second grade.
- It is likely that Lawrence Elementary school is smaller than our school.
- They probably have fewer second graders than we do.
