As children create problems that can be solved using information from the story, encourage them to use probability terms such as *possible, likely, equally likely, more likely,* and *less likely.*

Jack flips a coin 10 times and records whether it lands on heads or tails.

- He might get 10 heads and 0 tails, 9 heads and 1 tail, 8 heads and 2 tails, and so on.
- Heads and tails are supposed to be equally likely, so he probably got about the same number of each.
