Headline Story
Cheyenne drew a picture of a cake and cut it into equal pieces. Then she colored half of the cake.
Possible student responses
- If Cheyenne cut the cake into two pieces, she colored one piece.
- If Cheyenne cut the cake into 10 pieces, she colored 5 pieces.
- If Cheyenne cut the cake into 5 pieces, she colored 2 and a half pieces.
- The number of pieces not colored is equal to the number of pieces Cheyenne colored.
