Yesterday Pedro’s bean plant was 2
inches taller than Maya’s. Today it is only 2 inches taller than Maya’s.
Possible student responses
- We do not know how tall each of the plants was yesterday. We also do not know how tall they are today.
- Maybe both plants have grown.
- Maya’s plant grew more than Pedro’s.
- If Pedro’s plant was 4 inches tall yesterday, then Maya’s plant was 1
inches tall. If so, now Maya’s plant is at least 2 inches tall, but may be taller.
