Introduction
The goal of a Headline Story is for children to learn to translate situations and information into problems that can be answered mathematically. What information do we have? What information is missing? Encourage children to invent good questions or conclusions for the problem below.

- He could make 3 squares, each with 4 sides.
- He could make 3 rectangles instead, or some squares and some rectangles.
- He could make 2 triangles, but then the next figure would have 6 sides.
- He could make a triangle, a square, and a 5-sided figure.
