Possible student responses

First, I would decide which items on my list are the most important, just in case I can’t buy them all. As I find each item, I’d round the price up to the nearest dollar to make sure I’ll have enough money. I’d also have to keep a running total of the estimated cost of all the items as I put each new item in my basket.
