Headline Story
Sage’s mother needs to work 40 hours a week. It doesn’t matter how many days she works as long as she works 40 hours. What are some different ways for her to arrange her work.
Possible student responses
- She could work 8 hours a day for 5 days.
- She could work 10 hours a day for 4 days. She probably wouldn’t want to work more than 10 hours a day, but she could.
- She could work 9 hours a day for 4 days and work the other 4 hours on the 5th day.
- She could work 6 hours for 6 days and the other 4 hours on the 7th day.
