Headline Story
Gene and his two friends will go on a ride at the amusement park. Gene thinks they will need exactly 20 tickets in all.
Possible student responses
- We need to find out how many tickets the ride costs.
- If the ride costs 5 tickets, Gene and his friends need 15 tickets.
- If it costs 6 tickets, they will need 18 tickets, and if it costs 7 tickets, they will need 21 in all.
- Twenty tickets cannot be correct. They will need a multiple of 3, and 20 is not a multiple of 3.
