Headline Story
A group of children ate 36 cherries. They all ate the same number of cherries. What can you say about the number of children?
Possible student responses
- 36 children ate 1 cherry each.
- If there were 12 children, each child ate 3 cherries.
- There were not 5 children in the group.
- There could have been 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, or 36 children.
