Headline Story
A certain 2-digit number is a multiple of 4. Its ones digit is 6.
Possible student responses
- The number must be less than 100 and greater than 9 because it is a 2-digit number.
- The number could be 16, as 16 is a multiple of 4.
- It could not be 26 since 26 isn’t a multiple of 4. But 36 works because it is a multiple of 4.
- Starting with 16, every other 2-digit number with a 6 as the ones digit is a multiple of 4.
