Headline Story
Katie has some red beads, blue beads, and shiny silver beads. She wants to make a necklace. First she puts a red bead on her string.
Possible student responses
- Then she puts on a blue bead, then a red bead, then a silver bead, then a blue bead, then a red bead, then a silver bead and follows the same pattern until she completes the necklace.
- Then she puts a two blue beads, then two silver beads. The pattern continues with one red bead, two blue beads, and two silver beads until she completes the necklace.
- The number of beads in her necklace will depend on how long she wants her necklace to be.
