I had 10 pennies, but I dropped some.
Possible student responses
If you dropped one, you still have 9 pennies or 9¢; You have to have less than 10¢ now; If you dropped half, you still have 5¢ and could trade them for a nickel; If you have 7 pennies, you would have 3 left; If I dropped any pennies, I would pick them up!
