Introduction
Share the Headline Story with the class. Sometimes it helps children to review what they do know and what they do not know from the story. In this problem, they do know that Jackie has one dime and some pennies. We do not know how many pennies Jackie has, so we do not know how much money Jackie has. Encourage children to think of different ways to complete the story.

- If she has a dime and 1 penny, that is 11¢.
